Denmark will be a muslim nation within 100 years. Maybe they'll think differently then?

The US got lots of sympathy, they just dropped the ball with their insane agenda of fabricating an excuse to invade Iraq. The whole direction that America is heading is causing more and more anti Americanism.
The guy did say he was embarassed. |

The main issue is he is taking his paycheck from Danish taxpayers.
As such, it is mainly up to the Danish public to decide whether this is appropriate on air behavior.
But still, the American public should see what ALL of our allies' public broadcasting agencies (BBC, CBC, KBS et al) are doing as regards our nation.
If the United States information service, or the VOA employed a commentator who stated that he or she was a bit pleased to see Spain, England, Algeria hit by a terrorist attack,,,there'd be quite an international uproar, as there should be.
God forbid another European nation decides to take over the world again because I highly doubt the American people will be in the mood to spill any more blood there.
I wish them luck in their socialist utopia, especially in learning how to best incorporate sharia into their utopian vision. Maybe anti-americanism is the only glue they can find to bind themselves to the jihadis??? |

Everyone probably knows that Le Monde's publisher Jean-Marie Colombani, wrote we are all Americans but not everyone knows that on that day Colombani also said that the attacks were cause of the US cynism and also said that Bin Laden was created by US intelligence.
By December of 2001 he criticized the US war against the Taliban and said that the US wasn't fit to reform the mideast unless it reformed itself
That was the most famous experession of sympathy and in fact it wasn't anything much

In general, the French in both my general observations and personal experiences, actually like the United States, but can't quite abide the fact that Americans are so much more powerful and influential than they are. (how much of this attitude is due to the fact that we speak English is the million dollar question. If we were Spanish speakers, or Hungarian speakers...etc...my guess is the French would have gotten over our power a long time ago....but)
C'est la vie.
Like it or not, we have been allies longer than anyone else. Vive la? Sarkozy! |

Bollocks. The U.S. had an incredible amount of sympathy throughout the world but squandered it all. It suits some Americans to say that there wasn't any because to acknowledge that there was some is to also acknowledge what the U.S. government did to lose it. |

There was very little sympathy.
Not less than a week after the attacks the same French Newspaper had an article implying that 9-11 was an inside job. |

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that there are more countries in the world than only the U.S. and France. And I'm also pretty sure that the opinion of one editor does not always equate to the opinions of an entire country or the entire world. It's a remarkable generalisation from one newspaper article and one short clip of an interview. Well done!!
You also seem to be implying in your OP that people are not allowed opinions if they differ from your own blinkered view of the world. |
