How much extra will this cost me and will she be quarantined? Also, is it safe in Busan South Korea for a dog? |

Contact your airline. She can fly as one of your 2 pieces of checked bags. Cost should be under $300. Different airlines have different rules about things, so you sould check wit hthem. An ailrine approved kennel will run about hundred bucks.
If she has all of her shots up to date, no quarantine. Rabies must be done at least one month before entry.
Dogs are safe in Busan. What do you mean is it safe? They aren't snatching dogs of leashes and frying them on the street! |

How fit is your dog? I can maybe get you 500,000 won if it is a male with a large p*enis. Females are not really desirable here as they don't give the Koreans a substantial increase in virility.
PM me. If you can get three dogs over here we could start making some real money! |

Actually, that is still known to happen in South Korea. Not all the dogs in those bosintang joints were raised in dog mills. |

So it's dangerous to walk your dog there? I need to bring a knife I guess. |

No, it's not dangerous to walk your dog. No one is going to snatch the dog away from you. "Dognapping" has not yet hit S. Korea, although it's big business in NYC.
Your dog will be fine, just don't let him run free. And if he did get loose, cars are a greater threat than the stew pot... |

Never fly on the weekend with a pet. You can also have someone ship your pet and then you can just pick him/her up at the airport. I've done that twice, but never to another country. Tell me how it works out because I've been wondering about that too. |

She will have to fly with me. She will be terrified. She gets extra skiddish around unknown situations and people. |

i brought my puppy with me. if he's small enough, you might be able to take him on board with you. that's what i did, it was $50 at checkin with delta. plus a couple hundred for an international health certificate that they barely looked at upon arrival...no quarantine, no nothing...they just stamped the certificate and off i went. they didn't even look in the carrier. |

How big is your dog? If it's quite big, you will want to try and find out how big your apartment will be, to see if it will be accomodating enough for both of you. |

She is relatively small but not that small. I'd say about 20-25 pounds. She is part Dotson...so she is low to the ground. Think there is any way she could come on the flight with me? |

MOst airlines have the rule that dogs in the cabin have to be less than 8 inches tall. So, unless she's the size of a rat, you're out of luck. |

20-25lbs? Most likely it won't be able to be in the cabin with you, but will have to go down where they usually put larger pets on flights. You'll have to check with your airline to see if they accomodate pets. Also, if your company is flying you over on their dime, it's unlikely they will foot the bill for your dog as well, so that might be coming out of your pockets.
Another thing you REALLY want to look into is the apartment that will be provided for you. I know I already said you should be concerned about the size, but if your employer is providing the place for you, you want to make sure pets are even allowed in the building. There have been posts on here from upset people who bring their dog/cat over, only to find out that the landlord wants the animal gone. So then you're stuck. Your employer has paid a deposit and MOST likely won't help you find a new place, and you have to find a new place for pooch.
Make sure you REALLY do your research on this topic. It sounds like you love your dog very much, so it's definitely worth finding out as much as you can BEFORE you leave. |
