I want to get an add-in video card for my desktop PC so I can watch downloaded videos at the same time I surf the net. I really never play games on my computer. Can anyone recommend a card available here in Korea?
I read the post where this was covered two months ago, but I think I need a PCI video card and the last post was about AGP. Anyway, I really appreciate any help.
The card should have either S-Video out and/or VGA monitor port.
If I watch a downloaded movie on my TV over S-video, then can I still use the monitor to surf the net? If not, then the S-video is almost not needed; I need a second monitor instead. I can surely watch a downloaded video on one monitor and surf the net on the other, right?
(<edit>, Cable TV in not needed)
And maybe the card could have a Cable TV in.
I am running Windows XP media center, so I think if I had a cable TV input, I can record TV (for when a tennis match is on at 3:00 AM).
(<edit>, Cable TV not needed)
Is it possible for two in one card (S-Video out, VGA monitor port)?
Here's my PC specs:
Gateway GT5220

| ATi used to make video cards with a tv tuner built in, they were called the 'All In Wonder' series. They havent made them for years. If you use a vga cable, you can output the movie/tv show to one monitor and use the other for surfing. Not sure about with s-video. |

Thanks for that info, I didn't realize I needed a TV tuner card. My computer came with Media Center software, but rather lacking in Media Center hardware.
So I need a basic add-on video card for a second VGA output for a second monitor. And a S-video output would also be nice so I can try hooking up my computer to my TV for occasional use. If I can't surf the net on the monitor while watching the S-video on the TV, this would be rare usage indeed.
Thanks, |

| s-video cables are cheap, just buy one and see if you can run one display on your tv and a different one on your computer... the more i think about it, the more i believe that it can be done. |

yeah, I'd like to try that. But my computer doesn't have an S-video out.
Anyone recommend a basic add-on video card with VGA out and perhaps an s-video out. Just for watching downloaded or streaming video, no games.
Not really sure where to start to get one. I imagine online is better than Yongsan.
Thanks, |
