|
|
Anybody know if there is a train from Thailand to Vietnam and if there is if it is a sleeper train like the ones you take within Thailand? Also wondering how long it would take and roughly how much it would cost.
I can get a plane ticket direct to Vietnam but it's almost twice the money then to go to Bankok. I found the sleeper train to Chaing Mai quite comfortable, and am wondering if the trip to Vietnam would be comparable or if I should save the hassle and time etc and just fly to Vietnam. I'll have about 21 days of travel and wonder if trains would cut into my travel time. The more expensive ticket for Vietnam also goes to two different cities.
Any advice? |

I don't think there is a direct train from Thailand to Vietnam. Check out this website to make sure.

It is a great resource for train travel anywhere in the world. |

no train does that route, you could do a combination of buses and boats and get to see some amazing places in Cambodia along the way. Why fly when you can stop off along the way and see part of another country. Of course this all depends on the time you have. |

yeah, I kind of thought of the busses and boats, but it is a question of time too. And I've been to Cambodia once before and liked it, but I guess it depends on how long these bus and boat rides are. Anyway thanks for the link, I'll check that out too. |
