Awesome. Ask him you want to learn how to play too. Maybe you can get out of teaching for awhile.

One of my vice principles spends all day asleep in front of the fan. And when he's awake just muttering to himself. Maybe I should do him a favour and close all the windows and doors and switch the fan on full.

One day I'm gonna have to try this sleeping lark and see how many hours I can get away with. Maybe I just turn up in my pyjamas.

Many days if you came to our high school you'd think that the VP is the school gardener. Our principal almost never comes out of her office. I'm really not sure why we need any senior administration at all, sometimes.

Well he can't wake the principal and play cards with him can he.

Anyway the role of the vice-principal is clear

1. Make as many insecure home room teachers cry as possible.
2. Remembers the names of teachers who didn't laugh at the principals incoherent anecdotes.
3. To ensure logic in no way interferes with the running of the school.
4. To totally f-up your holidays by insisting you come in during the vacation even though there are no students.
5. To decide when the heating or air conditioning gets turned on.
6. To make sure anyone who doesn't come to the nore-bang never gets a promotion.

Edit;silly me did the pal thing again

I don't think we're insinuating that we don't like them. They're absolutely fine, I like mine. But I'm just a little unsure of their job description:

1: Sleeping
2: Weeding
3: Have a big nice comfy chair for sleeping
4: Fan importance

I'm sure there's more.

TBH, mine scares me. He just sits there, expressionless. Every now and then he'll start shouting at someone, but more often than not he'll be outside, wandering about with his secateurs, snipping here and there.

I get the disctinct impression that he's not suppose to spend to much time with the teachers as he often dines alone.

He seems ok though. When he first spoke to me he said " ahh...English. I am football hooligan. Are you football hooligan?"

I just smiled politely and stood there staring at my feet like a 5-year old.

I too would love to know what his precise job description is.

I heard that in ELEMENTARY schools, the VP is chose by the principal.
The best yes man gets the job.
So all the teachers who want to be the next VP, have to be yes men and women too.

Apparently, the principal can be chosen by the parents.
This means that you could get a principal with no logic or management skills, but has a face the parents trust.
It figures afer a few months.

There are also some appointe dby the ed. office.
