I previously had an F-2 in Korea and am going back to teach at a university.

Can anyone tell me for sure that in terms of the rules for transcripts and diplomas on an F-2?

If my memory serves me, they need them for the Education Department to register you, NOT immigration.

Unless something has changed very recently, F2-1s only needed to show /leave a photocopy of their degree to the education office to get a tutors licence or work in a hakwon.

Thanks Tom....this is for a university so they've asked for transcripts and my diplomas. I'm not going to mail the diplomas and told them they have to wait until I get to Korea to recieve them.

So the requirements are for the UNI and NOT for any government agency. They will want what they want. Each one makes its own rules.

Uni's are NOT covered by the MOE and immigration does NOT care if you are F2.

Tom,

Yes, but I was just making the point I don't have to go through all the immigration brewhaha therefore they (immigration) wouldn't need anything.

I finally did hear back from the university and it appears as long as I have the transcripts and my diplomas I'll be fine.
