As some of you know, I play in the Songtan pool league on Thursdays, and used to play in the Itaewon pool league as well.

While it is possible to find good online dealers, it is something like buying clothes or furniture or other sporting equip over the internet - you just want that 'hands-on' experience to make a decision on the 'important' stuff.

I know I could wander around the Dongdaemoon area, but I'd prefer tapping the folks here & see if anyone knows a decent pool/billiards supply shop - cues, cases, accessories, 6-spot cues, etc.

I've already put out wordd to Greg, Brian & Jun (those guys do cue maint, etc.) and put in a letter to Brunswick, as well, but if someone knows a good shop (or even has one they've see & can roughly describe the location), I'd appreciate it.

Regards,

Glen

Ok, so no one replied. I'm a moderately big boy, and got it sorted - here is the infor fro anyone interested:

The website I used to track down billiards supplies: (yahoo search results)

http://kr.dir.yahoo.com/business_and_economy/shopping_and_services/games/billiards/

I found an outlet of Wooribillmart over in Gwan-ak area that stocks cases, accessories, table maint stuff, etc. Went by there, and though no functional English spoken, they have catalogs & stuff on location.

In addition, I networked around & found a pretty cool guy based in Songtan - Air Force - who does cue maintenance in his spare time, and is seriously thinking about opening his own shop. Knows his stuff well enough, it seems, and can order supplies as well. If anyone needs his contact info, just let me know.

Regards,

G.

Ok, 2nd things first - here is the website for the place in Gwan-ak that has the store I visited. My teamates had me pick up a couple of hard case there, and I'm heading back this weekend for a couple of replacement racks for our house table at Happy Jacks -

http://www.wooribillmart.com/

I received a couple of requests for the pool supplies/repair guy, and thought i would pass along his info here

(this is just a cut & paste from his ad at the Songtan-si Pool League classifieds page) -

I 1/2 way thought about putting a copy over in BST, but figured that the thread was already here, & didn't want to double-post. If a mod thinks it would be better off over in BST, by all means, throw it there with my blessings! Wink

Regards,

G.

DISCLAIMER:

Custom repairs, listed or not, are priced according to materials and labor.

All repairs are guaranteed for workmanship and material defects, but not for abuse or warping. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Chalking and/or playing with your cue and/or shaft constitutes acceptance of the cue in the condition in which it was received. I also reserve the right to outsource any repairs upon which I can not complete at this time.

Email Greg Jacklin ([email protected]) or call 010-2897-2625

I prefer everyone just call me and you may drop cues off at the ROXY CLUB (in Songtan) with a description of what you want and your name and contact info. It would also be nice if you would contact me by phone to let me know you have dropped a cue off. It makes no difference to me whether you leave just the shaft or the whole cue. If the whole cue is left I ask that you leave me the case too. All Repairs are done next day unless something comes up or I just can't get in touch with the you. I figured out how to do Ferrules without a lathe. Prices are quoted when I look at the cue and will include a new tip.
