Hav u ever heard of a canadian not being able no get his pension back?
I just went to thailand for a one month holiday. So I filled for my pension.I filled for three different places .Two of those places , didnt contribute to my pension plan. One did.
I just got back and it seems that I got the pension money from only one place , the place that contributed to the plan.
Does anyone know what could hav happended?
Did the hogwons finally find away around the pension payment?

No doubt, the first two places didn't bother to remand either the money they withheld from your salary or their matching contribution to the pension fund.

The scum "manager" at the worthless hagweon in Incheon where I worked for one year tried to pull this one on the Canadian teacher and me after our year was up and the owner was trying to get out of paying us our due:

Quote:
Well, yes, the contract does say that money will be withheld for pension. But it doesn't say we'll put the money in the government's pension fund. We're just holding the money for you.

Yes, we did laugh in the guy's face when he uttered that moronic comment.

Are you coming back to Korea? If you are, you can take care of the problem with the first two places easily enough, provided you can prove they did take money from you for pension payments. If you can't prove that, then you'll have to turn over more money to them under the supervision of the Pension Office, after which the Pension Office will ensure they remand that and the matching contribution to the fund.

If you're not coming back to Korea, there is a way to get this done but it's a hassle. Send me a PM if you're interested in more info.

You can get that money, too, but you have to file a complaint, and the Pension office must investigate. THEN you must pay your half of the contributions. Once you pay your half to the school, the Pension office goes after the school for the whole amount (their contributions and yours). and fines the school several million. You can get you money from Pension after that.

the whole "get them to pay up" process can take anyhere from 3-6 weeks depending how much the caseworker sits on their ass.
