The closest center is in Naju (famous for pears!), near Gwangju. It serves the entire province. |

Thanks for the info! Do you by any chance know their phone number (where someone may speak English??!) so that I can check with them what documents etc that I need to bring with me? Or do you by any chance know? I already have a letter certifying my license from my home country which I heard that you need, but I'm not sure what else. Thanks again. |

I don't know their phone number. I'd ask a co-teacher to help you with that.
When I went, there was one person there who spoke mostly acceptable English. At least, it was enough to be understood.
You'll want to bring your home license with you. They'll ask for you to trade it, or else you'll need to take a road test. In any case, you'll have to take a written test. From what I understand, you should be able to request a copy of the driver's handbook in English, but at the time I took the test (roughly a year and a half ago, I think) none was available.
Bring your passport and your ARC for good measure, and make sure you allow yourself plenty of time. The Naju facility is also pretty far out in the boonies. |
