I saw a banner about a new Human Right Division of the police in Daejeon. The sign is mostly in Korean, but it contains a phone number and general information on the new division. I complain a lot about the lack of help for foreigner human rights so I am pretty happy about this new division. I also saw an ad for the division on the TV in my elevator. I will try to get the number today and post. For the Daejeonites the sign is up at the intersection going in to Mannyeondong of Expo Park, the science museum, and the Gapcheon. I usually fly through the intersection, but I will try to stop and get the info. off the sign and post it.
On another note, a friend of mine who is a member of the DFA told me they plan to put their "illegal private signs" back up. You can be that I will contact the Human Rights Division as soon as I hear the signs are back up. It remains to be seen if the Human Right Division will be effective or not. |
