astounds me. I have never witnessed so much retarded behaviour that is made to look so natural before.
Why can't they just be on time for the airplane departure for once??? They stroll in 30-45 minutes late onto the plane looking as if nothing has happened-no remorse or anything. Why should we all have to be late for them-just take-off already damnit.
They basically jump out of their seats on the airplane before the plane even lands ready to run up the aisle to make an extra 3 metres of yardage. Today the pilot stalled the plane just before halting and they all fell forward up the aisle-priceless.
And don't get me started on their dodgem driving with their luggage trolleys-I mean how can they not see you? I was collected 3 times tonight from people with no clue or care for people around them-and when they hit you they don't even acknowledge it nor apologise :/ not cool.
Not to mention people who just suddenly stop when walking in front of you grrrr.
Yes generalisations. Yes I had a good holiday.

Koreans abroad always amuse me with their tour buses, wondering around with groups of other Koreans, talking very loudly in Korean but never communicating with the filthy foreigners. |

hahaha...Speaking of filthy foreigners, I think it's priceless how some Koreans will go abroad and still STARE at the foreigners in that country. I hate to break it to them, but if they are outside of Korea, then they are foreigners, too. I had Koreans staring at me in Guam before. Hey, idiot, Guam is part of the US. YOU are now the foreigner, not me. It was so easy to tell which tourists were the Koreans when I went down to breakfast at the Hilton in Guam. If they weren't speaking Korean, they were the Asians who stared at me.
Also, the last time I was in Osaka, I was standing there with a Canadian girl I had met that day. She was about to take a picture of me standing next to a big hello Kitty outside the Sanrio shop. Here came two Asians and they bumped me out of the way, and the guy took the girl's pic next to the Hello Kitty. I told the Canadian girl, ha, they must be Koreans since they just pushed me out of the way. Yeppers, they started speaking Korean. Of course! |

i read an article awhile back in one of the korean newspaper where it talked about koreans being the worse travellers.
in the article it talked about how rude and disrespectful koreans can be when travelling such as, talking too loudly on the plane, putting their feet on other people's arm rest even when they have been asked to not do that, bumping into people, taking too many things on the plane, taking advantage of the alcohol on the plane....and it listed more.
I don't think all of it was generally true, but Koreans do push people a lot and they forget where they are sometimes. Because we all know pushing people in Korea is okay, but in other countries people say 'sorry' or 'excuse me' |

Don't forget the joys of being bashed constantly by a luggage cart while waiting in line for check in. Took the ajumma three evil stares from me to clue her in "look, JUST LEAVE SOME GOD DAMN SPACE BETWEEN MY FKIN LEGS AND YOUR LUGGAGE CART LOADED WITH YOUR FAKE LV LUGGAGE." |

yeah i don't understand why they would do this. because if someone was bashing them with a cart they would turn around and say something i am sure of it -- so why do this to someone else? it doesn't make the line go any faster!!! |

drives me nuts when i'm standing in line at the airport and a korean old woman or child (always one or the other) insists on constantly brushing against my backpack (standing too damn close). i usually swing the bag around and give them a good wallop.
another funny story, sitting at the gate. an ajumma next to me lifts her butt cheek (to the left, in my direction, thanks) and lets go the loudest fart i've ever heard a woman make. yeah, it's a natural thing, but come on, you can control it. no shame, no remorse. i looked at her, laughed, and moved my seat to the other side of the room. |

You forgot to mention the joy of having the KTX stewardess come up to you and your companion and suggesting you speak much more quietly because "One of the other passengers is complaining about the noise." The wonderful bit is that this happened just this Wednesday and the young lady and I were conversing quite quietly, certainly much more quietly than the rowdy, drunk Korean men closer to the complainant. (Neither my companion nor I drink alcohol.)
That happened on the ride up to Daegu. On the ride back South, not a single KTX employee on the train said word one to the old fart walking up and down the aisles smoking. When I told him there's no smoking and pointed to the sign right next to him, I thought he was going to drop on the spot from a heart attack. When he recoverd from his shock, he walked to the next car, cigarette still smoking.
Lesson learned: do anything you want that's illegal on the train. But whatever you do, don't commit the unforgivable offense of speaking in English, especially if the person with whom you're speaking English is a Korean woman. |

Koreans are the worst travelers. Call me a racist if you want, but they are. Even my Korean co-teacher admits this. I'm an American, and yeah, we can be pretty bad in Europe (although I've never met a fellow American who puts ketchup on spaghetti --- yuck), but it's nothing compared to the idiots I see all over Asia with their kimchi and kim brought from home in their fake LV bags.
Once I was on a flight coming back to Korea and the plane wasn't completely full, but I had requested an aisle seat (I'm 6'5). The stewardess led me to my seat and there was a Korean guy who had taken up all 5 seats in the row, making a little desk for himself complete with a laptop, file folders, bags, and a portable printer. The stewardess smiled at me and asked if I could move to a center seat in the next row. Fck that. I gave the guy a dirty look and he just stared in shock that he couldn't have the whole row to himself. |

"Oh yeah? Yeah, so right! I've seen/heard that from my friend's friend's friend blah blah, too. Gosh, these f-ed up Koreans!"
This kinda self-assuring talk gathering up all the extreme cases to get to a pre-determined generalizing imagery is nothing new indeed. I myself have seen some misbehaving Korean tourists abroad. Almost always some insensitive ajumma/ajussi tour groups on vacation. The funny thing is, if you ask random Koreans, you will find many of them know or heard about "ugly Korean" tourists and are fully aware of what can be perceived as ugly and against it. In any "Korean inside" talk, Koreans may still generalize a certain group of Koreans but now these people on Dave's are talking about just Koreans in general. It's quite amusing to a person like me who can seize the scenes from both worlds. There are many young Korean backpackers these days. |

This is all well and good, but come on man, Koreans are unique for their outlandish behaviour when traveling, because even the ugliest American/Brit/whatever doesn't act the same way as an ugly Korean does.
And yes, of course not all Koreans act like cavemen when they travel, but you cannot deny that the ugly Korean is indeed a truly unique specimen. There is a reason why many South-East Asians despise Korean travelers the most, you know. |

You forgot smoking in the planes bathroom...every time I go toThai on Thaiair there's an incident and the guilty party usually denies they were smoking even when a cloud of smoke emanates from the room after they finally open the door. |
