I heard rumors from my good friend who was my manager that one of my co-teachers is a rat and don't trust her. Well today it all came out. My friend quite and told me some of the things this huge b!tch has been saying about me. Every little thing I do in class she reports to the boss. If I go to the bathroom in the middle of class she tells on me.
She told the boss I have multiple jobs. I have a f-2-1 visa so I'm allowed to do it. Why the hell would someone go out of their way to rat on someone. Today I confronted her and told her she was busted. She is a terrible teacher and is so lazy it's not even funny. This job is not in a public school so she has no security. I feel when Koreans get jealous of someone, because they make more money then them, they want that person to fall.
This is the last time I trust a Korean co- worker. I will never tell a Korean my income or where I live. They are jealous over everything. Sorry about the rant I'm so mad. My grammar sucks to, don't really care right now.

This is the beginning of wisdom.

I dunno, mixed bag. I've had (and still have) many Korean coworkers who would do pretty much anything for me. Others have been just like you described.

Yes, there is that type of co-worker who gets extremely jealous. Just ignore them. But 99 percent of mine have been cool, and understand that we are contract workers.

Koreans are quite the backstabbers. They have this uri thing where they come before foreigners. They don't even think they are doing wrong when speaking to a boss about their fellow workers. Sometimes it's the boss that demands it out of them, so it's recognized as part of their jobs. Pretty bad, but I've witnessed it at my hagwon on more than one occasion.

They don't understand that they're being petty snitches. The really don't. Or they act like they don't. I guess human nature would make this seem obvious. It's more accepted here.

It's funny how they must perceive us. Really strange.

If the coin were flipped, I'd go as far as saying that it would be the same, but I think her they go a little too far. Informing your boss when you go to the bathroom, etc. is out of hand. Snitches, however, exist at every job, but in a small setting like a hagwon it's pretty discomforting. I'm guessing you were approached by your boss by these petty things. I'd probably tell him or her (boss) to mind their own fkg business.

Being a snitch is honorable in this society. Its all good for the collective group to know important information.

Yeah co teachers can be a pain because they want to be the main number 1 teacher and will do anything to undermine you.

Who really cares. You have a snitch as a co-teacher. No biggie. All the kids tell their parents about you, when you go to the washroom and all that other fun stuff.

You're on a F-visa so it's not like the boss is going to do anything. As long as the partnership remains beneficial he isn't going to care that much.

Well here is an update on the situation, 2 teachers quite at this place because the owner is a nut job. The new manager tells me she has decided to fire me. That's ok I just got a job offer from another school same money 3 million a month just have to work 1 hour extra. I'm still looking for the right job low hours lots of pay, but most important the boss is sane.
The owner has not paid this month. I recieved only 1.2 million this month should get 3 million. The Korean teachers not a dime and 2 e-2 visa teachers got 200,000 won. But the owner just got a new BMW last week and can't pay employees. I'm glad I'm done with this place.
My other job is at a public school and I think I will just stay with the public/ university jobs from now on.
But my ex co-teacher is still spreading lies about me and still back stabbing me. In my 3 years here I have never seen something like this. This is way so many people hate Korea and Koreans.

Jesus. I'd be badgering that guy. "SO YOU GOT A NEW BMW, BUT YOU CAN'T PAY ME?". I'd be screaming that into his ear.

It's a she and yeah I've yelled that. She got a new BMW and last month I was blessed with a son. But she does not care. Only about her and what she can have. It's OK the business will fail in a week or so. Two managers both good friends of mine left because they had access to the financial records and could see the company going down hill. They warned me, but I wanted to try and get my pay this month before I quite.

I wouldn't taken the 1.2 and kept siphoning cash out of her every day. Like bugging her every minute. "I need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyvI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need moneyI need money) Once I got close enough where it should be, it would be walking time.

Why do you keep typing "quite"? I'm not a grammar nazi or anything, but I'm just wondering if it's a bad habit or something.

Sorry about the spelling kind of mad and feeding my baby so typing with one hand. Probably a habit or my FireFox spelling check might be doing it "quit".

I did a part-time gig at @@@@@@ haggie teaching adults for a month back in July. For some unbeknownst reason, they decided not to pay me afterwards. Apparently they weren't paying the staff, nor many of the teachers either, as there was a mass exodus right after I finished the month (the agreed term of my employment). Just my luck, right? Not so fast.

I called the boss. My wife called the boss. Typical run-around: "I have to check my records" "I will pay in two days", blah, blah...

I was heated. He owed me almost a mil for showing up at his place lunchtime for a month, and I did a stellar job (I saw the student evaluations).

Went there today with my car backed up to the front door. I told him he can pay me now, or I am considering taking two computers from the computer lab, but that I would prefer the huge flat-screen TV in the lobby

The cash was wired into my account within minutes.

Don't take any crap from these jerks.

To make it even funnier, or more ridiculous, he called my cellphone while I was driving away to ask if I would be interested in any company teaching gigs. Yeah, sure.......PFFFTT!!!

Rolling Eyes

edit: He also wanted to see my resident card. I shoved it in his face. It has a big F2-1 on it. What do you think he would have done had it been an E-2, or, perish the thought, I didn't have one?

He would have called the cops. Scumbag.
