Do you use this sentence pattern: suggest sb. to do sth.?
such as I suggested him to get started right away?

Do you use this sentence pattern: suggest sb. to do sth.?
such as I suggested him to get started right away? No. The verb �suggest� (a transitive verb) can�t be used with the infinitive �to�.
The following constructions are possible:
I suggested he (should) get started right away.
I suggested he get started right away. [subjunctive. Mostly AmE]
I suggested getting started right away. |
