Hi!
He 'marshaled' the troops for the offensive.
Marshal=To arrange or place (troops, for example)...
But the website where I was solving this question says "called" is the synonym for "marshaled" in the above sentence!
Let me know which one should I go for!

| I agree with you. I would say deploy is a better synonym for marshal. |

In this context, "called" by itself is not a synonym. "Called up" would work. I would suggest rallied as a synonym. |
