Hello, teachers!!
(1) He has a large family.
(2) He has a large family to support.
Do you find any differences between (1) and (2)? In my opinion, if you have a large family, you have to support them. So (1) is the same with (2).
Thank you in advance. |

They are not the same.
Maybe he is an eighty-year-old man who supports himself only or his children support him, or maybe he is an eight-year-old boy and his parents
support him. |

Dear 2006:
Thank you so much for answering my questions.
You kindly explain it to me:
Maybe he is an eighty-year-old man who supports himself only or his children support him, or maybe he is an eight-year-old boy and his parents
support him.
----->
Is this explanation about (1) or (2)?
Thank you again for your help. |

The explanation is about #1. #1 doesn't say anything about support, so maybe he doesn't support his family.
In #2, he supports his family. |
