I can't understand this folloing sentence.

"I punched the lock release on your keys until I saw tailights wink."

I punched the lock release on your keys = I pressed the open-doors button on your remote control (attached to your keys)

until I saw tailights wink = until I saw your tail lights blink on and off (to indicate that the doors are now unlocked).
