Does your hamberger have lettuce in/on it?

Hamburger. (Named after the city of Hamburg in Germany, where it is said to have originated).
You ask if you want lettuce on it, because the lettuce is laid on top of the meat patty. If the lettuce were mixed up with the meat in the patty, then the lettuce would be in it.
