what is the difference of meaning between "i am fair" and "i am being fair"

"I am fair" means that I have a characteristic or trait of fairness; I am a fair person.

"I am being fair" means that, in this particular situation, I am being fair to the persons involved. I might not be a fair person in general, but right now I am using fairness to decide.
