Is the red part below grammatically correct?
The threesome girl group the Ronettes, which was formed in 1959, comprises of sisters, Estelle and Veronica and their cousin Nedra. "Be My Baby" was their biggest hit ever, released in 1963.
Or should it have been "...comprises sisters..."? |

I think your instinct here is right - the red section doesn't look correct and "comprises" feels like a better way of using the term.
Most commonly, I only ever really see/hear comprised with the preposition of.
