Hi teachers,
Please answer the two questions if know them.
Thanks a lot.
1
There are temptations all around us,but there's always a persistent little voice inside us tha says :" Shouldn't you go on lose fat?"
Is there a grammatical mistake at the last sentence?
2 Is it "truth be told" or "truth to be told"?
Make sure the diet is specially designed to fit your needs, and you will be albe to stroll "carefree around both sides" of the scale.
Should it be "carefreely" and what is the meaning of "both sides" in this case? |

1. I think it is supposed to be: " Shouldn't you go and lose fat?"
2. It's "truth be told," and it means, "if the truth were to be told" or "to tell the truth."
3. Well, "carefree" means "without care / without worry," as in, "Childhood should be a carefree time." I've never heard it as "carefreely," and I think here it really means that you should be carefree and be able to stroll around both sides of the scale.
I'm not sure what the last part really means, but I think the implication is that you should be able to walk in front of the scale (and stand on it and weigh yourself and not be worried that the number will frighten you) and in back of the scale (and not weigh yourself but not be worried that you are really avoiding the bad news, because you don't think it will be bad news).
But I could be wrong . . . . Anyone else? _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
