I'd like to know the usage of the word influx
I've made a short sentence using the word.
so can you please check this out if it is OK to you.
Merchandise selling better than the company expected, workers at the factory have to deal with an influx of work. |

Influx usually deals with something new coming in. The work they are doing is not new. I would say "...deal with an influx of orders." |
