A. it B. so C. that

What is the difference of the three answers? Are they all correct?

It was not for several years that I had the opportunity of seeing the bird again.

Is this sentence correct from the point of grammatical view

Yes, though typically you will hear A or C more than B.

Yes, grammatically it is correct. "It" is the subject, "was" is the verb, "not for several years" is an adverbial prepositional phrase, and "that I had the opportunity..." is a predicate nominative.
