Hello, dear tutor,

Could you please tell me if the following sentence is Ok?
"Since I have knowm Tommy, he has had three different jobs."
Shouldn't it be "Since I knew Tommy... " instead?

No. Present perfect tense works fine in this instance.

If the main verb were "meet" instead of "know", would it have to be in the SIMPLE PAST?

"Since I met Tommy, he has had three different jobs."

Good morning!

"Since I met Tommy, he has had three different jobs."

You are correct! Use simple past for actions that started and finished in the past. "I met Tommy" happened just one, so it is completed. You can only meet a person one time.

Have a great day!
