According to the definition of the dictionary, "perusal" has two contradicting meanings: one meaning "examine in detail" and the other meaning "review casually". Which one is used commonly?

It actually means, to read or examine carefully and thoroughly.
The second definition is incorrect, so you should buy a different dictionary. (I'd recommend The Concise Oxford Dictionary). |
