Use energy-efficient ceiling fans either alone or with air conditioning. Ceiling fans do a great job of circulating air. When used with air conditioning, fans allow you to raise the thermostat and cut costs.

Can you paraphrase "When used with air conditioning, fans allow you to raise the thermostat and cut costs"?

Thanks.

If you run a fan as well as the air conditioning, you can raise the temperature at which the air conditioning starts up. This will save you some money.

Thanks for your reply.

But if we raise the starting temperature, shouldn't it take the air-conditioning more time and energy to cool the room?
I cannot understand.

Thanks

The idea is that once you start the air conditioning to cool the room, using a fan along with it will cool the room faster. Then you don't have to keep the thermostat so low, because the room will already be cool.

The only misunderstanding for me is "raise".
Many thanks to Lorikeet for your detailed explanations, which I think is of great help to me!
