Hi teschers,

Would you help me with two phrases highlighted in boldface type?

aware that I have co-founded a company called mSpoke which also does recommendations, so there is disclosure out front but he has some interesting perspectives on the recommendation engine space and reached out and I think it would be interesting to share with the Read/Write Web audience
(http://news.mardvetising.info/n/Wealth-Building/196/jack-jia-ceo-baynote/)

Most sincerely. Crying or Very sad

The quoted material comes from the transcript of an interview. If it had been written out by the author, it would probably have been a little more properly written.

He is interviewing a person who has recommendations site, and the interviewer also has a recommendations site. Disclosure means revealing something, in this case, that he, too, has a recommendations site. Out front is a colloquialism that means at the beginning, at the outset.

As for reached out, that is a way to say that the person being interviewed contacted the interviewer, figuratively reaching out his hand to him.

Dear CP,

Thank you for your answers!

May I have a few more questions?

1) "but he has some interesting perspectives on the recommendation engine space and reached out"

"but he has" is present tense, while "reached out" is past tense.
Why? It is confusing for me.

2) Could you mind paraphrasing the sentense "so there is disclosure out front but he has some interesting perspectives on the recommendation engine space and reached out "?

Please help me.
Sincerely, Crying or Very sad

He has certain perspectives or views, but he reached out one time in the (recent) past. Again, this is transcribed conversation, which is not always as well-crafted as the written word.

The paraphrase:

So now everyone knows this right from the start. He has some interesting views on the recommendation engine space, and he contacted me to discuss the topic.
