Hello!
1. The reason "worn" is a better response is that the reference is to clothing. We don't really wear a picture. Rather, we wear clothing with a picture on it.
If I were going to use "printed," I would say, "Kiwi has become a national symbol and its picture is printed on many New Zealand products, including the sports clothes of many national sporting team."
2. "Recreation" is the best answer here, meaning a hobby or activity. For some people, mountain climbing could also be a way to relax. But for most people, relaxation does not mean "active." It means to rest or to choose an activity that is not intense or strenuous, such as reading or sitting at the beach.

thanks for your help.
Kiwi has become a national symbol and its picture is used on many New Zealand products and is ______ on the sports clothes of many national sporting team.
Could I ask what the subject iin the above sentence s? Is it "Kiwi "or "its picture"?
Either way, it cannot go with the verb "Worn". AM i right?
Like you said, it should be "Clothing is worn" not a kiwi or a picture is worn.
Thanks again. |

Hi!
Great question!
This sentence actually is two sentences, joined by "and"
1. Kiwi has become a national symbol. [Subject = Kiwi]
2. Its picture is used...and worn... [Subject = picture]
While it's true that pictures aren't worn, in this sentence, picture is the subject. The prepositional phrase tells us where the picture is (on the sports clothes) |
