Can one say:

1-I am happy for him to lose.
2-I am happy for him to have lost.

instead of:

I am happy that he lost.

almost.


you can say i am happy for him to lose, but be aware that 'for' is not really connected to happy.

the meaning of i am happy for him to lose is

'i would not feel bad if he loses.'
