mmmmmm, good question.

I would guess, in no particular order, that the top 5 languages of the world would be:

    English,
    Spanish,
    Portugese,
    Chinese,
    Urdu (the Indian language)

Languages I have studied are completely different:

    English (my mother tongue),
    French (In High School),
    Spanish (In university),
    Japanese,
    Korean

Having worked in both the last two countries. I also have basic skills in Italian & German from visits to both countries for vacations.

Anyone like to add to the list of top 5 languages in the world, or other languages that they speak?

It depends... ideal are languages with which you can cover a lot of countries and can communicate with a maximum of people. That would mean that

English
German (my native language so no big choice on this)
Spanish
Arabic and
Chinese

are in the list. But my personal Top 5 which I studiy / studied at least for a short time are

English
Spanish
Italian
Arabic
Hungarian
