We always believe that there simply isn't enough. We think we have to compete----, fight and struggle, so that we can get what we need and want. If we can't reach out our hands to get, someone else will be searching through our pockets. The result of that mentality is that we all have to go hungry.
What does the underlined sentence mean?

Hello,
This is really a confusing sentence. Even as a native speaker, it makes little sense to me. I'm wondering where you found it. The person who wrote it doesn't seem to have a good grasp of English. The whole thing requires a complete re-write.
Sometimes, it's best to leave these kinds of sentences alone. |
