When I was reading a mystery novel, I met a phrase I could not understand.
The scene was as follows.
*******************************
---the old bum who sat across from her, smelling of piss and sweat and waking up with a moist snort each time the bus hit a pothole or lurched to miss one.
********************************
I couldnt make out the meaning of "a moist snort".
Does he have a stuffy nose? In this sentence, does "snort" mean "snore"? What is a moist snore?
Could you please tell me the meaning of this phrase? Crying or Very sad

Hey,
Snort in this case seems to refer to a loud exhalation of air from the nose. And as you said, a moist snort implies that the man's nose was stuffed.. eeks... Rolling Eyes
And btw, what novel is it?
