Hello, teachers!!
(1) I do the wash every day.
(2) I do the washing every day.
I know that (1) and (2) are both OK.
Some people say (1), and others (2). Why? I mean, are there any differences between them?

No, there's no difference in meaning that I am aware of. It's just a question of personal preference as far as I know.
For what it's worth: I remember hearing my mom always say do the wash...and at the age of 76 I doubt if she's going to start saying it differently.
