Both make sense and mean the same thing. The first one sounds a bit awkward, however. The majority of people would say the second one, in my opinion.

We can't make make a simple statement, we always have to ask a question Smile

Man, how hot it is it today? = It is very hot today.

How dodgy was that bloke at the pub? = The individual at the public house acted in a suspicious manner.

How gorgeous is that shiela? = I would like to get to know yonder lady more intimately.
