Dear teacher,
I have recently seen the film "Kungfu panda",and there is a saying"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery..." .I wonder if there should be an "a" before mystery. "tomorrow is a mystery"
Thank you very much! |

It would be more common to say 'tomorrow a mystery', but the quote sounds like it's meant to be poetic:
Yesterday/Tomorrow is history/mystery
You get a nice symmetry that way, and saying that tomorrow is mystery gives a grander feel than simply saying 'it's a mystery' (which is a phrase we often use for mundane things. "Oh no where are my keys?" 'It's a mystery!'). |

Thank you! That's to say "tomorrow is mystery" is a correct expression.
The whole sentence is like this:"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." |
