Please help me with the following question.
This kind of medicine will surely _______ nothing.
(A) affect (B) effect (C) defect (D) infect
The answer is (B), but how about (A)? Is there any difference?
Would you please paraphrase this sentence?

See my reply to your other recent question, which involved affect vs effect.
I'll say it again: effect is a noun and affect is a verb. This can change in other special uses, but you don't need to worry about those here and now.
