1. A:Where is the shoe store?
B:It's on the corner.
Usually when you are giving directions you would specify which corner, e.g. At the corner of Portage and Main (Streets).
2.a Turn left at the next corner... You need the.
b. The next day sounds better to me.
3. a.Turn left at the corner of Park Rd. and Patty Street.
b.The mailbox is on the corner of the street.
Native speakers use either on or at more or less at random.
You would say, "on the corner," if it is something that's permanently located there (like a shop) and "at the corner," if you were telling somebody where to turn. |
