Yes. Manufacture comes from two Latin words, manus (hand) and factum (past participle of facere, to do, to make). It originally meant to make by hand, but now means to make as a product of some sort, usually in a factory.
So you can manufacture wine, cheese, sausage, and bread. Put them all together, and you have a picnic. (But you wouldn't say you manufactured a picnic out of them . . . .) _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
