What are "regions" in the context below?
The New Jersey Legislature approved a measure on Monday that would make the state the first in the region and the 14th in the nation to legalize the use of marijuana for medical reasons. _________________ Hiromichi |

A region is an area of a country that has definable characteristics but not always fixed boundaries. It can also be an administrative district of a country.
The East Coast, is a region.
Central Canada, is a region.
The Maritimes is a region
New Jersey is a state on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States of America. The region referred to is that part of the USA that is considered to be similar, I'd say Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachussetts, New York, are part of the same region. They are all coastal states close to New Jersey.
If I have forgotten anybody's favourite state, I apologise. |
