Another Question!

=> .......... created a Washington Capitals fight song and ..........




I want to know why the 's' is inserted right next to the word 'Capital'.

I found out that the Washington Capitals is(right?) a hockey team.

But isn't only 'Capital' alone enough?

It is most common to have sports teams use a plural. For example, the San Francisco Giants, the Baltimore Orioles, the San Jose Sharks, etc.
