You are correct.
The only time that grammatical errors are acceptable is in quoted speech or in dialogue. |

| Would you say that this sentence is correct Pugachev? "There are rice, macaroni, and water in that store." I always thought if the items were non-count, "is" could be used even if there were two or more items. I thought "there is" and "there are" tended to match the first item that followed. |
