Hello,
If we want to talk about something someone normally does, should it be "kites" instead of "a kite"?
"He gets a kite from the tree." (Whenever some kid has got a kite stuck on the tree, he helps get it down.)

Yes that would be accurate. Odd, but accurate.
"He gets kites from the tree." This would mean that if children always get their kites stuck in this specific tree, "he" is the one who retrieves them. _________________ Pat Mallon
