I have always wondered at the passion many people have to meet the celebrated.
||
(a) I have always wondered at the passion.
(b) Many people have the passion to meet the celebrated.
I want to ask this.
Which do you think is right, (a) or (b)?
(a) Many people have the passion to meet the celebrated.
The passion=to meet the celebrated.
[to meet the celebrated] connects with [the passion], therefore you cannot put [to meet the celebrated] at the beginning of the sentence.
(b) To meet the celebrated many people have the passion.
[to meet the celebrated] doesn't connect with [the passion], therefore you can put [to meet the celebrated] at the beginning of the sentence. |

To meet the celebrated is the passion of many people.
Meeting the celebrated is the passion of many people.
Both of these sentences are OK.
The original sentence is OK.
It is not clear to me what you want to know. |
