Dear teachers & friends,

Please constribute some interesting ideas for this topic: compare the gift you receive now with the gift you received ten years ago.

Thank you.

Best regards,

I guess it wants you to talk about the kind of gifts you receive now, and the kind you received ten years ago (toys?), and talk about the differences and how your tastes and interests have changed?

I know what the topic is about. I prepare for an oral exam but with this topic I cannot find out interesting sentences to talk.

It would be better if you suggest a gift and give me some nice sentences as an example.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Why don't you talk about gifts you've received? The examiner might start asking you questions, if you don't know about Transformers or whatever you might start to struggle and the examiner could mark you down, thinking your English ability is the cause.

Think about some gifts you've received years ago (clothes, a watch, an instrument, video games, socks) and the kind you get now - are they different? If they are, why? Are you a different kind of person, with different interests? Do the people you know now give gifts differently, compared to people you knew ten years ago? Did you ask people for specific gifts, but now you let them buy whatever they think you'll like? Or are things generally the same - and if so, why?
