Time and again in such awakenings there is an insistence that outer things have dramatically changed, whereas to other observers they haven't. But this doesn't mean that going into the light, seeing the face of God, or whatever other name we wish to give to the experience is false.

In the underlined sentence, the subject seems to be 'going into the light' and 'seeing the face of God' and 'whatever other name we wish to give to the experience', that is, the subject is plural. If so, I think 'is' has to be changed to 'are'.
Can you tell me if I am right or wrong?

Thanks.
