Dear teacher,
I want to know the difference between two words, one is advertising and another is advertisement.
If I mention it when I see it on TV, which words should I use?
Thank for your help! |

advertising refers to an activity - the activity of letting people know about a product or service.
advertisement refers to the thing that you see in the newspaper or on TV. Oftentimes, we shorten it to just "ad."
So, you could say:
I saw a clever advertisement / ad on TV the other day.
or
Let's put an advertisement / ad in the newspaper for our fundraiser.
Hope this helps _________________ Helping ESL students since 2001!
