In this example:
"Teens are seldom happy with their look" would refer to their style or taste in clothing, etc.
the classic look
the cowboy look
the punk look
etc.
I kind of doubt that this use of "look" would be applied in this way to teens, since they are notorious for taking great pains to dress according to the style of their peers. Being "seldom happy" about that doesn't make any sense, given their tendency to succumb to peer pressure as it is.
"Teens are seldom happy with their looks" would refer to their physical attractiveness (or lack of it), especially with regards to facial features.
This sentence makes more sense in context.
If looks could kill, I would have been a dead man.
Her looks are nothing to write home about.
