Last week he succeeded in _________ a dead mouse to life as a clone.

Key: restoring

He had not ________ a dog but produced a monster.

Key: brought back

Could I fill in the following answers instead?

Last week he succeeded in bringing back a dead mouse to life as a clone.

He had not restored a dog but produced a monster.

Well, almost - you'd have to put "a dead mouse" in the right place:

Last week he succeeded in bringing a dead mouse back to life as a clone.

Quote:

This one is a little more difficult, without a fuller context.
