Hello,

Can you please explain the difference between "plunge" and "lunge"? I have always understood that "plunge" is downward and "lunge" is forward (as in attacking someone). Is that a good way to distinguish between these 2 verbs?

Thank you.

Nawee

Hello Nawee, the main difference is we plunge into something and we lunge at something. A good example is: We plunge into an assignment at work. It does not have to be into water. We lunge at someone. I hope this helps.
