Dear Teacher

I have found a quote from Nelson Mandela, but I just cant understand it properly.

quote
There is no passion to be found playing small in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. By Nelson Mandela
Unquote

Could you please help me to understand its structure and meaning?

Thank you.

Hi Rayt, In the first part he is saying that there is no enjoyment in not doing what you are capable of doing. For Example working as someone who shovels manure on a ranch, but has a college degree in a subject. He or she will never be happy. In the second part you are accepting this job rather than pursuing the higher goal. I hope I did not confuse you more.

Thank you, jerseyjoe.

I have found this quote from the link below

https://www.fairmont.com/fpc/MembershipBenefits/

May I share your expertise with what does the hotel tried to imply or what opinion do they try to convey? (Does it encourage people to take a vacation as if escape from the job they are doing maybe less than the one you are capable of living?

Please help me out. Thank you.

Hi Rayt, yes they said that their vacation is far better than another vacation somewhere else and you will enjoy it much more. Why spend money somewhere else, when you can enjoy it so much more there. That is what they are trying to convey.
