Hello,
As the sentence says, " His heart was broken into pieces." Is "broken" an adjective here? Is it OK to say," His heart broke into pieces"? Thanks for your help!! |

Here, broken is a past participle.
You could change the passive "was broken" to the active "broke".
It would change the meaning slightly, taking away the idea of someone else being responsible.
